Praise The Lord for the beauty of simple things*

Good Morning Friends!.... What a beautiful day we have today!

I was outside in the backyard watering just a little while ago. Everything is growing so nice and lush this year! What a blessing! I watered extra good, our forecast said we'd be reaching 92 degrees today. Yesterday morning while I was sitting in the living room doing Bible study, I glanced out the window and as I looked towards the shed, I saw a cute little orange color kitty jumping and playing around over there. It was so cute! Then I saw a little white kitty stick her head out from under the shed and look around a little bit, then squeeze the rest of her body out and started jumping around with the other one! The little white one was the same one my dog bit about two weeks ago, I had still been concerned about it and I had prayed for it's recovery from the bite. The Lord is so good that in His mercy He let me see that the kitty was just fine!
Well, I finished my book yesterday and I have another one to start: Play it Again, Spam! -by Tamar Myers. I do want to start that one, but first I really want to read a book that I think will actually do me some good. It's called: The Ultimate Weight Solution: The 7 Keys to Weight Loss Freedom by Dr. Phil McGraw You all have seen my pictures, I know I could use to lose a good 40 pounds. I want to see what Dr. Phil has to say about losing weight. I have another book that goes with it I guess: The Ultimate Weight Solution Food Guide by Dr. Phil McGraw It says on the cover that it "Features Dr. Phil's NEW Rapid Start Plan -Includes Calorie Counts, Menu Planning, Tips on Portion Control And More!" (wow. Looks like work to me. But we have to start somewhere, don't we?) I wanted to mention that it really is rare when I buy a book brand new. There's E-bay, or Amazon on the web, thrift stores are where I picked up these gems. It's getting time (actually already started) for yard sales! You can really find some good books there. Not to mention a million other cool things. I love yard sales. I really enjoy having yard sales too. It's a good way to get to know your neighbors. When they buy your stuff that was dear to you, that's a huge indicator that you have some stuff in common. (so thinks I)
Last time I went to my Doctor, he told me that my lipids were high. He told me I have 2 months to lower those lipids or it would have to be lowered with medication. I think he was just trying to freak me out. It worked. What REALLY freaked me out was that I didn't know what a lipid was. That word just seems...kind of scary. ...LIPIDS!!!! See? Anyway, from what I understand, this means no more fresh jelly donuts. Dang! I really love those. My favorite. Or maple bars. Cream filled maple bars. No more fat stuff. So, I've been really paying attention to Fat Grams. This started May 15th. I'm doing really good. I check everything for the fat grams and I try to keep my total daily fat grams to under 35. (I remembered that from some weight clinic I went to years ago.) My doc should be well pleased with my work. Well...What do I have for you today? OK. I tried a new Laundry soap that I like: GAIN Joyful Expressions (apple mango tango scented) really does smell good. My sister found for me a certain tea that had been discontinued some years ago. They have it again, but under a different name. (She ordered it from the manufacturer and had it sent to my house directly) It's called: Canadian Vanilla Maple by Celestial Seasonings (It's absolutely my favorite tea.) This tea company is here close by in Boulder, Colorado. They have tours of the plant and they've been known to give free samples to those that go in and visit! They have so many different teas. Anything you could imagine. Here. I'll put up the link to their website: http://www.celestialseasonings.com/index.html

To find the tea I like, you have to click on where it says our products and then click on where it says Black Tea (Then you're there.) Canadian Vanilla Maple.

A little boy was attending his first wedding. After the service his cousin asked him, "How many women can a man marry?" "Looks like 16." the boy responded. His cousin was amazed that he had an answer so quickly. "How do you know that?" "Easy." the little boy said. "All you have to do is add it up like the Pastor said: 4 better, 4 worse, 4 richer, 4 poorer."*

During the 14 years it took to complete the Brooklyn Bridge, construction was delayed by an unexpected explosion, a fire, and a snapped cable. In 1883, shortly after the bridge officially opened, a woman walking up the stairs on the Manhattan side tripped, and her companion screamed. Her shout instantly triggered fears that the bridge was collapsing, and panic ensued. Tragically, twelve people lost their lives in the resulting stampede.*

It's time to wrap things up for today. I want to thank the Lord Jesus Christ for our brilliant and beautiful weather that He's provided! I wanted to make sure and invite everyone who can, to get out and enjoy this warmer weather. Research shows that time spent in the sun can improve your mood, and it also increases your vitamin D intake (which improves bone health.) Just don't forget to wear sunscreen for protection from the sun's powerful rays.
I have a house to clean and some laundry to do, so I need to get busy with that.
Have a wonderful day! Blessings! -Missygirl*

Looks like Baking time is here! I think I'll be a part of it! (go away, wicked fat grams! Go away!)

I Hope You had a Wonderful Weekend!

I was reading some things and thought I'd share them with you:

Strange but true facts
>When asked to name their favorite flavor for a dessert or sweet snack, 52 percent of Americans say it's chocolate. Vanilla and berry flavors are tied for second place, but they each got only 12 percent of the vote.* (chocolate is my favorite. I have a plaque in my kitchen that explains how I feel: "I'd Stop Eating Chocolate...But I'm No Quitter")
>According to a RECENT study, teens today spend more time watching TV than they spend reading, writing e-mail, surfing the internet and playing video games combined.*
(TV...The Greatest Weapon of Mass Distraction The World Has Ever Seen."
>Next time you're heading to the Big Apple for business or pleasure, you might want to keep this startling fact in mind: Health Department records show that more people are bitten every year by New Yorkers than are bitten by sharks.* (Good to know.)

ONE ITEM TO PUT INTO THE BARREL OF KNOWLEDGE IN YOUR MIND:
Thomas Wedgewood took the world's first photograph in 1802.*

After eating an entire bull, a mountain lion felt so good he started roaring.
He kept it up until a hunter came along and shot him.
The moral of the story: When you're full of bull, keep your mouth shut.

The single busiest international land border crossing in North America is the Ambassador Bridge, which connects Detroit, Michigan to Windsor, Ontario, Canada. When it first opened in 1929, some young couples arranged to have their nuptials performed exactly halfway across the bridge. The tradition came to a quick halt when it was pointed out that the mid-point of the span was technically a "no-man's" land. The spot was not claimed by either the United States or Canada, meaning that any wedding vows exchanged there might not be valid.*

(I thought this was a good idea:)
Cutting boards can be freshened with a simple, eco-friendly cleaner:
a lemon!
Cut a lemon in half, and rub the cut side all over your cutting board.
It usually will take out stains and is great for onion odors as well.*

We admire anyone who makes a comeback after failure and defeat.
In 2001, Sports Illustrated magazine featured an article on the greatest comebacks of all time. Surprisingly, they selected the resurrection of Jesus as number one. It was stated this way: "Jesus Christ, 33 AD. Defies critics and stuns the Romans with His resurrection." How discerning! In any list of history's comebacks, Jesus' victory over the grave surely merits first place. Indeed, His resurrection is in a class that soars above any other comeback.*
(for this to have been in a secular magazine in the 21st century is just wonderful.)

GOOD MORNING, LORD, the night has passed,
Just as You said it would,
And once again I gaze upon
Your world and find it good.
The darkness fades, as darkness will,
And so my heart is light,
For You await to share my day,
Who watched me through the night.
I cannot see what lies ahead,
But I am sure You knw,
So take my hand and walk with me,
wherever I may go.
No joy or pain is ever sent,
Save by Thine own accord,
So in the shadow of Thy love,
I say... Good morning, Lord.
