Blessings to you on this beautiful day!

HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY!

I was watching a program that came from Ireland, with an eighty-something year old gentleman talking about this day and it's meaning. His name is George Killian Lett.

The first thing he said was that "It's all about friendship".

He said for St. Patrick it was all about turning Ireland into a "Vibrant Christian Community".

The shamrock was chosen for it's symbol because of the three leaves.

They represent: The Father, The Son and The Holy Ghost.* <>< <>< <><

Enjoy your beautiful day!

(God made it just for you!)

Snowstorms turn into rain showers. Clocks were set ahead. Green returns to the grass and crocuses, daffodils and tulips send new shoots skyward.
The clouds part...and brighter skies fill with the chirps of recently hatched birds.
There's no denying it. Winter is looking at its final days.
Spring, the season that celebrates fresh new beginnings and new life
is coming around the corner!*

Hey! How is everyone today? Great I hope! Me too.

Silly questions that make me smile:

Is there another word for synonym?
Isn't it unnerving that doctors call what they do 'practice'?
Would a fly without wings be called a walk?
If man evolved from monkeys and apes, why do we still have monkeys and apes?
If the police arrest a mime, do they tell him he has the right to keep remaining silent?
Why do they put Braille on the driver's side of drive-through bank machines?
What was the best thing before sliced bread?
If you TRY to fail and succeed, what have you done?
Whose cruel idea was it for the word "Lisp" to have an "s" in it?
If a mute swears, does his mother wash his hands with soap?
Could it be that all those trick-or-treaters wearing sheets aren't going as ghosts but as mattresses?
Why do they lock gas station bathrooms- are they afraid someone will clean them?
If the "black box" flight recorder is never damaged during a plane crash, why don't they make the whole airplane out of that stuff?

Yes, Silly questions make me smile...........

Today I wanted to give you some recipes for a few different Tortilla Chip dips that I think you'll like.

Mexican Dip
1 container of Sour Cream
1 package of Cream Cheese
1 packet of Taco Seasoning Mix

-mix well-

Top With:
Shredded Lettuce
Tomatoes
Black Olives
Green Onions
Mexican Cheese (& Salsa if you want)*

************************************

NACHO DIP
1 LB. of Ground Beef
1 LB. of Sausage
1 can of Diced Tomatoes with Chilies
1 box (2 lbs.) Velveeta Cheese (store brand is OK)

Brown the ground beef and sausage.
(I just put them in the frying pan together)
After the meat is done, drain all the fat off really good.
Put it in a crock pot.
Open the tomatoes (w/chilies) and drain well.
Put tomatoes (w/chilies) and the cheese into the crock pot along with the meat.
Set the crock pot to High or Low depending on how soon you need it.
That's it. Just dump it all in and let the cheese melt. Serve with Tortilla Chips. -A really easy recipe and a hit at parties.*

I get a new perspective when I read in the Bible that God says I am His.
It means that I belong to Him! The thought that God, Almighty God, The One who created the universe, considers me His, a most valued possession, that truth alone is enough to make me bow down and cry gratefully. Being His means God will never let me go. (Because He loves me.) There isn't anything in the world that will keep Him away from His children. At many points in my life I've felt Him pull me near Him; In my darkest hours or brightest days. Even when I'd stray away, He'll pull me back to Him and hold me tight. I'm so thankful I'm His. He could never love me anymore than He does today and He could never love me any less than He does today. -(Romans 8:39) Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.*

Your friend, Missygirl!*

March is National Craft Month!

I was wondering what craft I should do. I think I'll make the new curtains that my husband and I picked out and already purchased the fabric for. (It's because of sheer laziness they're not made yet. They could have been done by now.) Anyway...yes. The curtains it shall be. They'll be just beautiful. I'm not a real crafty person you see. I want to be, but it seems everything I'd like to do is just really hard. I chicken out before I even try. Maybe I should make that a resolution this year. Try more stuff. Don't chicken out. Put on my big girl panties and get with it! (I know it's March already but I think it's perfectly fine to start resolutions any time we feel like it.)*
Well, I hope everyone is doing well. I have another real good recipe for you today. It's one of my faves. My sister and I found this in one of mom's cookbooks. We both like it. I'm sure you will too:

"Chicken Enchiladas"

12 Corn Tortillas
Vegetable Oil
2 Cups (8 ounces) shredded Monterrey Jack Cheese, divided
1/4 cup butter or margarine
3/4 cup finely chopped onion
3 Tablespoons all-purpose flour
2 cups (diluted with water) canned chicken broth
1 (8 ounce) container of sour cream
2 cups finely chopped cooked chicken
1 (4 ounce) can chopped green chiles

directions:
Fry tortillas, one at a time, in 2 Tablespoons oil in a medium skillet
5 seconds on each side or just until tortillas are softened; add additional oil, if needed.
Drain on paper towels.
Place 2 Tablespoons cheese on each tortilla; roll up and place, seam side down,
in a 12- x 8- x 2 -inch baking dish. Set aside.
Melt butter in large skillet over medium heat. Saute onion until tender. Add flour, stirring until smooth. Cook 1 minute, stirring constantly. Add broth; cook over medium heat, continue stirring constantly until thickened and bubbly. Stir in sour cream, chicken and chiles.
Pour over tortillas. Sprinkle remaining cheese on top.
Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Yields 6 servings*

*******************************************************
I was just outside a little while ago, watering everything. The early spring crocuses are already starting to come out. There are new little shoots on the trees, flowers, bushes. This winter has been extremely mild here. We really need moisture. I wonder if we'll get some snow yet. We'll have to wait and see but it is much needed. I won't complain if it comes. (Okay, that's not a promise though. I do get cabin fever easily.)*

"End Time Prayer" by, Don Elwood

Our Heavenly Father, It appears that the time is coming of which You spoke in Your Holy Scriptures. The time we have been calling the end times is near. We desperately need Your protection, courage, and wisdom. The time is near when it will be against the law to call upon Your Name and when we are accused of being Christians, we need the wisdom, strength and courage to plead guilty as charged. For, as You have said in Your Word, if we do not so plead, then we are not guilty and therefore unfit for Your Kingdom. Help us to face the trials ahead with courage and faith that You will see us through.

Help us also to reach those in our family who will listen; so that they may be able to join us in Your care and please place someone in the path of those who are resistant and to break any and all spells and negativity they may weave. In Jesus' Name. Amen

"Prayer For Our Nation"

Our Heavenly Father, we come to you to acknowledge that we are a sinful people and as a nation we have sinned against You by thought, word and deed.

As a nation we have turned our backs on You. We have expelled You from our schools, we have kicked You out of our courts, we have vanquished You from our congress, in many cases we have deserted You in our churches and we have set other gods before You and have included them in some of our worship services. We have allowed witchcraft to flourish. We have profaned Your Sabbaths and some have even gone so far as to blaspheme Your Holy Spirit.

Even with all this Lord, there is a remnant who still strive to serve You in the manner in which You have commanded us.

Look upon us with compassion and turn us back to you. We began as a Christian nation and we desperately need to return to You.

Give us the whole armour of God, which is the character of Christ. Gird us about with the belt of truth. Put on us the breastplate of righteousness; put on our feet the shoes of the gospel of peace; Put in our hands the shield of faith to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. Put on our heads the helmet of salvation and give us the sword of the Spirit which is Your Holy Word. Having given us all these things, add to us, the courage to stand. In Jesus' Name. Amen
