My much loved Rhubarb Plant. -Missygirl*

Hello!... It's a gloriously beautiful day outside! (I keep walking around my house humming the theme song from the Smurfs. I don't know...weird.)

RHUBARB CRUMB BARS
" Sweet rhubarb filling topped with golden crumbs makes these bars a favorite in the spring"

1 cup + 1 1/2 tablespoons flour
1/2 cup oatmeal
1/2 cup wheat germ (plain or honey-flavored)
1 cup brown sugar, packed
1/2 cup butter, melted
2 cups rhubarb cut into 1/2-inch pieces
3/4 cup granulated sugar
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1 tablespoon butter, softened
1 egg, beaten

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
In a medium bowl, combine the 1 cup flour, oatmeal, wheat germ, brown sugar and melted butter. Press one-half of this mixture into a greased 9-inch square baking dish. Sprinkle the rhubarb on top. In a small bowl, combine the granulated sugar, remaining 1 1/2 tablespoons flour, nutmeg, and softened butter. Add the egg and beat until smooth. Pour evenly over the rhubarb and top with the remaining crumb mixture. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes. Cool and cut into bars.* Makes 2 dozen

I've got to finish up cleaning around the house and I have a couple of errands to run so I'm gonna let you go now. ~Make this a day to remember by remembering how much Jesus loves you!! Your friend-Missygirl*

This glorious sunrise made me cry. God is so powerful! -Missygirl*

Every morning of life offers us new challenges and rich blessings as we walk with Christ. Despite mistakes we may have made yesterday, choices we regret, and heartache we have endured, God is merciful to us. The sunrise reminds us of His faithfulness and of the new start each day brings. -Bill Crowder

Perhaps it was the simple joy of a beautiful sunrise that prompted Jeremiah to write,

"Through the Lord's mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not.

They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness" -Lamentations 3: 22-23

Hello Friends!.....I Hope everybody's doing really good today!

Well...I've been reading again. I have books to tell you about. I did read the second book in the Claire series: Claire Knows Best... Loved it. I had originally bought the first book: Leave it to Claire for my sister one day when I was cruising on Amazon looking for interesting books. It talks about situations in the life of the woman in the book that were kind of similar to stuff in my sister's life and I thought she'd like it; So I ordered it for her. (I ended up reading it before I mailed it to her. See how rude I am.) I did mail it to her, and then I ordered the next one for myself. Finished reading that one too. Now I'm waiting for the final one the author has written so far. It came out in January 2007, so it's fairly new. It's on the way. It's called: I Love Claire by, Tracey Bateman. These stories are about the life of a divorced woman and her kids, loving The Lord, and living their everyday lives; The ups and downs, laughing with them and sometimes shedding a tear with them. These books are super. They are fast reads. Very enjoyable. I totally recommend them. I also re-bought another of the first book that I had mailed to my sister so I can have the whole set. (I am such a book girl. Missybookgirl.) Right now I'm reading another one by Tamar Myers: Parsley, Sage, Rosemary and Crime.
It's a goody also. A good read. A fun read.

The recipe I have for you today is:

SHOOFLY PIE (Makes 8 servings)

1 nine inch unbaked pie crust
1 1/2 cups flour
1/2 cup dark brown sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
pinch of ground cloves
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 stick cold butter (1/2 cup)
3/4 cup water
3/4 cup unsulphured molasses
1/2 teaspoon baking soda

Combine the flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves and salt. Cut the butter into pats and add it to the flour mixture. Using a fork, mash the butter into the flour mixture until you get a texture like course crumbs. Combine the water, molasses and baking soda. Pour into the unbaked pie crust. Then spoon the crumb mixture onto the liquid. Bake at 375 degrees for thirty five to forty minutes. Best if served at room temperature.*

Next month we have a wedding to go to. It's going to be fun. No promises, but I'm going to try to get pictures of me and my husband for you. I talk about him all the time, but haven't showed him to you yet. I'll try to get pictures of the kids too. They should be there. I'm not positive on that.
The plants and the trees and flowers are growing so good now! (and the grass!) -I did want to get out there and try to do a little weeding, but boy did we get rain yesterday!
It rained 2 1/4 inches yesterday! ~Normal for the whole month of April is 1 1/4 inches!
Everybody's yard is going to be so green! This weekend is supposed to be 70 - 80 degrees. I'll try to do the weeding then. I hope I haven't bored you out of your mind today.
Have a fun day! Never forget how great you are! Blessings! -Missygirl*

SPRING HAS SPRUNG!

Weeding time has begun.

Does the 'to do' list ever get all the way done?

I don't think it's possible.

Bye now, -Missygirl*

Hi Everyone! I hope you're having a great day!

(Just to get you thinking seriously a little bit, I have this for you:)
FUNNY HOW....
Funny how a $100 bill "looks" so big when you take it to church, but so small when you take it to the mall.
Funny how long it takes to serve God for an hour, but how quickly a team plays 60 minutes of basketball.
Funny how long a couple of hours spent at church seems, but how short they are when watching a movie.
Funny how we can't think of anything to say when we pray, but don't have difficulty thinking of things to talk about to a friend.
Funny how we get thrilled when a baseball game goes into extra innings, but we complain when a sermon is longer than regular time.
Funny how hard it is to read a chapter in the Bible, but how easy it is to read 100 pages of a best-selling novel.
Funny how people want to get a front seat at any game or concert, but scramble to get a back seat at church services.
Funny how we need 2 or 3 weeks advance notice to fit a church event into our schedule, but can adjust our schedule for other events at the last moment.
Funny how hard it is for people to learn a simple gospel well enough to tell others, but how simple it is for the same people to understand and repeat gossip.
Funny how we believe what the newspaper says, but question what the Bible says.
Funny how everyone wants to go to heaven provided they do not have to believe, or to think, or to say or do anything.
Funny how you can send a thousand 'jokes' through e-mail and they spread like wildfire, but when you start sending messages regarding The Lord, people think twice about sharing.
FUNNY, ISN'T IT?
Are you laughing?
Actually, it isn't funny at all.
Spread the Word and give thanks to The Lord for He is Good!
