With love- Missygirl*

Hi!

~I overheard a conversation while sorting my mail. A delivery boy, talking to the postmaster, punctuated every sentance with the name of Jesus. As he was leaving, I asked him, "Who is this Jesus you speak about so much? Is He a friend?"
The delivery boy stared at me. "You mean you never heard of Him?"
"Were you referring to the eternal Son of God, who was born of a virgin, died on the cross for our sins and..."
"That's Him! That's the one I'm talking about."
"Well, if that's Him- the One who ascended into heaven and is coming again to judge the living and the dead-why do you use His name so carelessly? Why don't you respect Him?"
My words hit their mark.
He knew his speech was disrespectful.
Then I asked," Do you know the ten commandments? One of them says, 'You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain, for the Lord will not hold him guiltless who takes His name in vain' (Exodus 20:7). That's the sad news. The good news is that He's already paid the penalty for your sins on the cross. If you accept Him as your Savior, He can set you free from your sins, including this one."
"I guess you're right, but I have to go now," the boy muttered as he ran away.

How about you? Will you accept Jesus or will you run away too? If you ask Him to forgive you and save you, His answer is "I will." The Bible says, " If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrightousness." (1 John 1:9) -G.D.C.

Have a fun day!
-Missygirl*

Hello to Everyone today!! -Hopefully everybody is having a fabulous day!
-And I do hope you enjoy the things I post,
I enjoy sharing them with you, my friends.

Today I wanted to share this with you:

DRINK, STEAL, SWEAR & LIE (Not what you think, so read on)!
FOUR RULES TO LIVE BY~

I met this guy while I was in Albuquerque and he has a motto he lives by everyday.
He said listen carefully and live by these 4 rules: Drink, Steal, Swear & Lie.
I was shaking my head 'no', but he then told me to listen while he explained his four rules. So here they are:
1.) "Drink" from the 'Everlasting Cup' every day.
2.) "Steal" a moment to help someone that is in worse shape than you are.
3.) "Swear" that you will be a better person today than yesterday.
4.) And last, but not least, when you "lie" down at night, thank God that you live in America and have freedom.*

I am not as good as I should be; I am not as good as I could be; but THANK GOD, I am better than I used to be.* -Author Unknown

It's time again to start the garden, time to plant those seeds. My husband turned all the dirt and added fertilizer. We've decided on a bunch of different vegetables this year. For sure we're planting zucchini. Actually, zucchini tastes really good barbecued. We sliced it up, put seasoning on it and cooked it right on the grill. I'm trying to cook more with fresh vegetables. Steamed cabbage is good, also steamed crisp green beans with mushrooms was good. Play around with different spices and you could get some real good results. I've cut myself off from eating at restaurants and started concentrating more on good home cooking. I haven't been suffering at all and my husband sure is enjoying it. We've been enjoying baked potatoes and sweet potatoes wrapped in foil and cooked baked potato style are really good. I'm trying to stay away from sweets and white bread too. It's been two weeks and the clothes are fitting looser. (that's another good reason to eat better) I sure am glad it's spring time again. The grass is starting to get green again and the plants and trees are starting to wake back up. The birds chirp so happily and there has even been days when I've hung some clothes out to dry on the clothesline in back.

I'm going to say goodbye, now. Have a wonderful day! Blessings! -Missygirl*

Hello Everybody!
Try to have a history teacher explain this one....if they can:

Abraham Lincoln was elected to Congress in 1846.
John F. Kennedy was elected to Congress in 1946.
Abraham Lincoln was elected President in 1860.
John F. Kennedy was elected President in 1960.
Both were particularly concerned with civil rights.
Both wives lost their children while living in the White House.
Both Presidents were shot on a Friday.
Both Presidents were shot in the head.
Now it gets really weird...
Lincoln's secretary was named Kennedy.
Kennedy's secretary was named Lincoln.
Both men were assassinated by Southerners.
Both were succeeded by Southerners named Johnson.
Andrew Johnson, who succeeded Lincoln, was born in 1808.
Lyndon Johnson, who succeeded Kennedy, was born in 1908.
John Wilkes Booth, who assassinated Lincoln, was born in 1839.
Lee Harvey Oswald, who assassinated Kennedy, was born in 1939.
Both assassins were known by their three names.
Both names are composed of fifteen letters.
Now hang on to your seat...
Lincoln was shot at the theater named 'Ford'.
Kennedy was shot in a car called 'Lincoln' made by 'Ford'.
Lincoln was shot in a theater and his assassin ran and hid in a warehouse.
Kennedy was shot from a warehouse and his assassin ran and hid in a theater.
Booth and Oswald were assassinated before their trials.
Well, then there's this.....
A week before Lincoln was shot, he was in Monroe, Maryland.
A week before he was shot, Kennedy was with Marilyn Monroe.* (kind of creepy, huh?)

(Wow. What a coincidence, and I truly never believe in coincidences. But.....
I think this is one history lesson that most people probably won't mind reading.)

'TEN INCHES OF WATER'

A boy was sitting on a park bench with one hand resting on an open Bible. He was loudly exclaiming his praise to God. Hallelujah! Hallelujah! God is great! (he yelled without worrying whether anyone heard him or not!)
Shortly after, along came a man who had recently completed some studies at a local University. Feeling himself very enlightened in the ways of truth and very eager to show this enlightenment, he asked the boy about the source of his Joy.
"Hey," asked the boy in return with a bright laugh, "don't you have any idea what God is able to do? I just read that God opened up the waves of the Red Sea and led the whole nation of Israel right through the middle."
The enlightened man laughed lightly, sat down next to the boy and began to try to open his eyes to the realities of the miracles of the Bible. That can all be very easily explained. Modern Scholarship has shown that the Red Sea in that area was only 10 inches deep at that time. It was no problem for the Israelites to wade across.
The boy was stumped. His eyes wandered from the man, back to the Bible lying open in his lap. The man, content that he had enlightened a poor naive young person to the finer points of scientific insight turned to leave.
Scarcely had he taken two steps when the boy began to rejoice and praise louder than before. The man turned to ask the reason for this resumed jubilation.
"WOW!" Exclaimed the boy happily, "God is greater than I thought! Not only did He lead the whole nation of Israel through the Red Sea, He topped it off by drowning the whole Egyptian army in 10 inches of water!"*

HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY!!

GOOD MORNING FRIENDS!

Tomorrow is St. Patrick's Day and because I'm not Irish I never paid much attention to it.
Well, Friday on the news I saw an Irish gentleman (who seemed to be around eighty-something)
talking about the day and he said that it's 'All About Friendship'. He said for St. Patrick it was all about turning Ireland into a 'Vibrant Christian Community.' The Shamrock was chosen as it's symbol because the three leaves represent: The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit!*

Have a wonderful day! Blessings! -Missygirl*

HAPPY MARCH EVERYONE!

"What's wrong with me?" -Do you ever ask yourself that question?
Recently I noticed how many times I do. When I can't find something. When I fight with my husband. When I let someone down. When I arrive late somewhere. The list goes on.
It dawned on me that every time I think "What's wrong with me?" I try to figure out what it is so I can change it. What I actually need to change, is how I talk to myself.
Why? Because every time I ask myself, "What's wrong with me?" I'm telling myself that something is wrong with me.
That's not what God wants me to say to myself --a dear person He created. It's not what He wants you to say to yourself either. But there is someone who loves it when you do though.
He'll even whisper it in your ear: "What's wrong with you?" -He's the enemy of our soul and he's trying to convince us that we're incompetent, inadequate and all alone in our struggles --
so that we never become what God wants us to be.
He wants us to take our eyes of Christ and focus on our flaws; then spend days figuring out how we can hide them. -That's what he did with Eve in the garden of Eden. I wonder if she might have even thought, "what's wrong with me?" when faced with her own inadequacies and failures.
But think back to what God said to Adam and Eve. He asked them: "Who told you that you were naked?" In other words, "Who told you that something was wrong with you?"
God acknowledged that there was someone casting shame on them and it wasn't Him. He warned that they had an enemy whispering lies into their hearts, causing them to move away from Him and each other.
Satan's plot is the same for us. But we don't have to comply. Instead , we can fight back against his accusations with truth. We can stand on the truth of who we are in Christ- chosen, holy and dearly loved. We can accept that we are the way we are because it's all part of our God-given design. All part of our "package".
None of us is perfect. All of us have strengths and weaknesses, but we are "fearfully and wonderfully made" -just the way God planned.

Lord, make me aware of the times when I am not so nice to myself. Help me recognize my self-doubt and the enemy's accusations. I want to turn away from the lies so I can listen to (and live in) Your Truth. I want to become all that You created me to be. In the glorious Name of Your Son, The Lord Jesus Christ, I pray. -amen.*
