Hello Friends!
Renewed youth (read Isaiah 40)
As the eagle grows old it's upper beak grows very long and curls under, so much so as to lock into the under one, thus preventing the poor bird from taking it's food. It gets weaker, and death seems imminent. But there is something that the bird itself must do: find a rough rock upon which it must rub off the upper beak. This process is painful, and the bird will not do it if it can avoid it. The other eagles, perceiving its plight and knowing the remedy, encourage their comrade by bringing the choicest morsels of food they can find, and placing them in front of the poor, old, starving bird.
At last the look and smell of the food drive the bird to desperation as it makes a determined effort to rid itself of the hindrance that prevents its eating. In the process of rubbing, the beak falls off and, behold! ...there is a new beak underneath. The bird immediately begins to eat, it's youth is renewed, strong life returns, and the dying eagle enters a new lease on life. The Lord said it shall be thus with those who believe in His Word. (-Mrs. M. Martin)

Lord, remove every hindrance that keeps me
from eating the food -Your Word- that will restore me.
Nourish me and give me a new lease on life in the Spirit.
Amen. *****************
