THE LORD JESUS CHRIST IS TO BE PRAISED!!!
Hello everyone!
I'm so glad Spring is here. I did get tired of the snow. I'm sure a lot of people feel the same way. My sister on the other hand, just loves the snow. She can't get enough of it. (Seriously!)
Well, this year our patio furniture looks just terrible. Something needed to be done. We didn't want to go out and purchase a whole new set (those can get quite costly) so we looked at what the problem was and what we needed to do. The umbrella had a hole in it. I think it was just too many years in the sun wearing down the fabric. The chairs had stuffing coming out of the seats. The squirrels are the varmints responsible there. One time I saw a squirrel eating the stuffing as he was pulling it out of the cushion. I chased him away but it's obvious he came back. (by the looks of things, he brought friends.) The black paint on the table is chipping off too.
Well, those were the bad things.
The frame is strong on the table and the frames on the chairs themselves look in good condition. So, we purchased new replacement cushions for the chairs and a new umbrella. We also bought two cans of 'Navajo white' spray paint and we're going to remove the glass portion of the table and repaint it and the chairs. It will be a new and brighter color and I think it will be just beautiful!
The plants, bushes and the first of Spring flowers (crocuses and tulips in my yard) are coming up nicely. I have a forsythia bush that has beautiful yellow flowers and it's just gorgeous! The rhubarb is already coming up great and everything is waking up!
Last year my husband brought home three Rose bushes, the kind with the flowers the size of your palm. My husband does landscaping and sometimes customers get tired of the plants they have and want a different design in their yard. They tell him to just get rid of this plant or bush right away, (sometimes trees) and if they are nice, he'll bring them home for me, trim them down and plant them here. Well, the three he brought home, two of them are yellow and when he was driving home with them in the back of the truck, they were already in full bloom! He said he could smell them all the way home! He planted those two outside of our bedroom window because he said the smell would surely go right in the window during the spring and summer. The last Rose Bush was a purple one that he planted in the back yard, near the patio, so I'm excited to see that one in bloom too.
A couple weeks ago I picked up 2 plants at the grocery store. Herbs actually, one Thyme and the other Rosemary. I'm excited about planting those perennials outside. I have a small herb garden in the back, separate from the other garden. In this one I have regular Chives, Garlic Chives, Sage, Oregano, Lemon Herb and Mint. I think the new ones will feel very much at home there also. My daughter has a Pineapple mint that I asked her give me some of. It's just a baby now but mint grows fast. Maybe next year it would be ready to take a small portion.
My husband is re-doing a garden bench outside for me too. I think I'll put it next to the garden so I can sit out there and do Bible study in the mornings while it's cool. Summertime gets so hot. I have to plan ahead. ♥

Devotional Thought:
Are you saved? If you are, then you are a saint.
Now you're probably saying "But, I can't say that. Christ wants me to be humble."
But let me tell you what real humility is. It is accepting what God says about you;
and God says you're a saint. Now, that doesn't make you sinless; it makes you blameless.
In God's sight (and that's the only sight that counts) you are a saint. God sees you as perfect
because He sees you draped in the righteousness of His Son.
Glory to God for His indescribable love to us! -pastor Adrian Rogers ♣
