Come What May– Ron Graham
“I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom; Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.” 2 Timothy 4:1-2. When fellow believers position themselves in a place in which they are obviously standing against God there should be some form of rebuke forthcoming from the brethren who can visibly see their erroneous ways. But when a brother or sister in the Lord is firmly planted on God’s word, doing everything they can to convince others concerning God’s will, there should be nothing but exhortation forthcoming. Clearly in today’s charged political climate we’re watching a no holds barred arena in which Christians are being pitted against Christians – Come What May.
I’ve been inundated of late with letters from folks attacking my position on not voting for the lesser of two evils. What I thought interesting, and thus appropriate to expound on, was the undeniable lack of godly discernment among many of my brethren, even among pastors who wrote to chastise me regarding my stance on God’s precepts. At first I was taken aback, but the Bible does tell us that in the last days there will be a falling away (apostasy) from the faith. Well my brethren, without a doubt that apostasy is clearly among us.
We’re told in the scriptures that just prior to the antichrist being revealed the apostasy will occur. Many professing Christians today have no grasp of, nor do they have any desire to understand, the times. The reason for this is many professing Christians are fully entrenched in apostasy. There is not only a lack of godly discernment today but there is also a supernatural force moving through the body of Christ on earth, which is not of God, systematically blinding the saints to the truth.
Many professing Christians voted for Obama in the last election thinking him to be the savior of America. Obviously they forgot who their Saviour was. Now many of these same professing Christians see Romney fitting that bill. Worldly Christians looking for a way to prolong their cushy existence will do whatever it takes to accomplish their goals – even the compromising of their faith means nothing to them as long as they don’t lose their conveniences.
Some have written to me claiming Mormons have their own form of righteousness. When I receive a letter like that clearly biblical discernment has gone out the window. How can anyone who does not know the One true God, Jesus Christ, have any form of righteousness. Righteousness means right with God. We are made righteous through our belief and faith in the One who came to die for us on that cross. In God’s eyes there is no other righteousness available to mankind. Mormons have no form of righteousness while they remain in their cult of deception.
Still another group of people who oppose my stance on our two choices for president, like to pull out a Bible verse which has absolutely nothing to do with voting or choosing godly leadership. The verse that’s continually sent my way is “render to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s.” Actually that verse in context presents our Lord Jesus speaking to a bunch of hypocritical and wicked Pharisees. “Shew me the tribute money. And they brought unto him a penny. And he saith unto them, Whose is this image and superscription?  They say unto him, Caesar's. Then saith he unto them, Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar's; and unto God the things that are God’s.” Matthew 22:21. Those who find it fitting to refer to the above underlined portion of the verse obviously find it exceedingly convenient to leave out the last part of verse 21 “And unto God the things that are God’s.” As Christians we belong to God, therefore what Jesus is telling us in the above verse is to render (give) what belongs to God to Him. Our hearts and souls belong to Him not to Caesar.
As citizens of the US it is our duty to pay our taxes and to obey the laws of the land. We have no other duty, nor does the word of God ever tell us to choose Satan over God. When we as Christians are presented with two evils as a choice we must never compromise our faith in God by placing our stamp of approval on one evil over another form of evil. We stand with God not Satan.
Divided loyalties are common among Christians these days, and this divisiveness has led many to embrace a government of secularism which is in direct opposition to our God. Can a Christian – a follower of Jesus Christ – also be a patriot for the nation in which he/she lives? A patriot is a person who is devoted, loyal to a national cause; most people become patriots of their birth nation, and many do so with pride. On the other hand, a Christian also adheres to a form of patriotism in that he/she is devoted to God. Yes, we’re still citizens of our birth nation and loyal, until our loyalty becomes in direct opposition to our God.
There may well come a time when being a patriot of a secular nation while attempting to be loyal to God brings division among the saints, but it should never be so. Anytime we, as the re-birthed children of God, determine to place our God second and the nation where we sojourn first we have divided our loyalties and supplanted God’s authority over our lives. Godly discernment is a trait given to His re-birthed children – not to secular nations or worldly people. “But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.” 1 Corinthians 2:14. The natural man is one who, as he/she remains in rebellion to God, sees the things of God as foolishness – zero godly discernment. Placing my stamp of approval for the lesser of two evils would mean I had made a decision to divide my loyalty between God and Satan. Not going to happen.
Neither of the two men running for the office of president is even “close” to holding Christian biblical beliefs. Both men are Satanists. They are followers of their father the devil. They must be seen for whom they are, not for whom we want them to be. We, as Christians, prefer to have a godly man leading our nation. Neither of these men is godly. They both stand diametrically opposed to our God and Saviour Jesus Christ. You desperately want Obama replaced. So do I. Many of you are willing to give your rubber stamp of approval to a man (Romney) who is fully entrenched in the satanically created religion of “Mormonism”. I am not.
Some have stated that “We are not voting for the head of our faith or the ‘church’.  We are voting for the President of the United States.” Basically what this mentality promotes is that we are to keep our faith in Christ separate from our secular worldview and our choices. In so doing we can participate in the secular world without burdening our conscience. Again, a foolish attempt at supplanting God for Satan.

I believe that voting is a privilege; certainly the body of Christ should be involved. Here’s the rub, as Christians we have a higher duty and a higher calling which is to our God, this is what the world doesn’t understand and can’t grasp because the world has no spiritual discernment. When we are able to cast our vote for a godly individual then we should do so without hesitation, but when there is no godly choice afforded us, as children of God, we are to stand with a firm conviction and always side with God. We must have faith in God that He is in control, not us.
Some of my readers have stated the following “We’ve never had a godly Christian man in the office of president.” To which I must respond “And whose fault is that?” If this is such a Christian nation why have we never had a godly Christian in the office of president? Where have all those professing Christians been on voting days?
This nation of ours didn’t just fall off the cliff yesterday; we’ve been on this course for decades. In many cases Christians who have lost their first love are clearly to blame. Many professing Christians have gone secular. Divisiveness runs amok among the ranks of the saved, but it doesn’t need to be that way. We are all one body in Christ and as such we should all have the same mindset. There is only one Holy Spirit and God is not going about teaching His children, who He loves, varying interpretations of His inerrant word.
Something is amiss among many of our Christian congregations today. It is obvious there’s a fox in the henhouse. Satan is aggressively moving in for the kill, and as such has masterfully manipulated his followers into positions within the body of Christ to teach what is clearly unbiblical. Everyone can’t be right. Therefore godly discernment is imperative if we intend to stand firm on our faith. If not, simply chose the interpretation of Scriptures that best suits your fancy. “For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;” 2 Timothy 4:3. Pull scriptures out of context if you will to drive home your point. But remember this; you’re not fooling anyone but yourself.
Christians in this nation will be confronted with un-pleasurable consequences as we reject worldly direction. But the reality is this, nothing else matters but our faithfulness to God. Our reality is our spirit. If you are born again, your spirit is already alive forever and destined for an awesome eternity in Heaven. There is no reason to conform to this secular world. The world or the worldly can’t do anything to your spirit to change your destination.
“Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.” 2 Timothy 4:8. Personally, I’ve chosen to vote for my God and Saviour, Jesus Christ. I will write in His name on my ballot. Then, when the time comes and I stand before Him in eternity, I won’t need to be ashamed about choosing any evil, even the lesser of two evils, over my God and Saviour. When I stand before my Lord, all I want to hear are the words “You have fought a good fight my son, you have finished the course, you have kept the faith.”
Here’s a few  questions; Does God see you as a faithful son or daughter, or as a child with divided loyalties? Does God Almighty need the help of Christians in determining the leadership and course of this nation? Or has our course been predetermined and set before the foundation of this world? Could it be that God is testing His children to see just how faithful they are to Him? To see who, if any of His children, through all the adversities and blatant attacks from our own brethren, will take a stand against evil while we firmly and faithfully stand with our God and Saviour, Jesus Christ?
The next life is what we yearn for, and that is what we cleave to while we sojourn in this immoral, corrupt, satanically burdened world. As born again children of the most High God, we live our lives for Christ – Come What May.
God bless you all,
Ron Graham
